3G PITCH HIRE
In January 2021, a historic moment arrived for Penydarren Boys & Girls Club and the local community, when the 3rd Generation artificial pitch at The Bont Playing Fields was completed.
This exciting new development will further enhance the excellent facilities at The Bont with the potential for year-round use. In addition, the facility will help create and develop a ‘hub’ of local community activity and act as a catalyst for collaboration with community, partners and potential investors; and deliver wider economic regeneration, social inclusion and health benefits for the community.
The installation of the 3G pitch at The Bont was made possible through funding from the FFos y Fran Community Fund which is jointly administered by Miller Argent Limited and Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council. It was laid via South Wales Sports Fields, a local company that produce brand new 3G surfaces up and down the country.
Our 3G pitch can be hired (subject to availability) for recreational & training use, for matches (large or small), for delivery of practical coaching, for fitness sessions, for events associated with sporting activities. All enquiries are welcome from recreational to corporate use.
The pitch is available to hire by the hour with both full and half pitch slots available from 9am, up to 10pm (subject to availability).

Full Pitch: £80.00 per hour
Half Pitch: £40.00 per hour
Changing Rooms: Available
Please note that changing rooms can be purchased and the use of floodlights, if required.
Due to the pitch being a 3G surface, you'll only be allowed on the pitch with the correct footwear! Be sure to wear boots that have either plastic or rubber studs. NO METAL STUDS ALLOWED!
