Penydarren BGC forward Alex Long has insisted that he is determined to pick up a trophy with the club this season, ahead of their Nathanial Car Sales League Cup Semi-final against fellow Welsh League Division 3 side Trefelin BGC.
Penydarren BGC take on Trefelin BGC in the Semi-Finals of the Nathanial Car Sales League Cup. The game will see the Bont Playing Fields sides’ unbeaten run in the competition put to the test when they host 'the reds 'at Rhiw Dda’r on Tuesday Evening, as they look to bounce back after their 3-2 defeat earlier on in the season.
Kerry Mullins’ side enter the game on the back of a 4-2 victory over Albion Rovers. A brace from Joshua Brogden and one-a-piece for Alex Lloyd and Ryan Martin secured the points for Penydarren as they maintain their good form ahead of their run in for promotion.
The Welsh International began by saying, "The season so far has been a very good and successful considering we are in with a shout of sealing back to back promotions"
Speaking on the game, Long said “I can’t wait for the tie on Tuesday night. It should be a fantastic game showcasing the best two sides in Division 3".
Long is under no illusions that Tuesday's game will be a tough encounter: “We know we are up against a strong and physical side who are very well organised and are in great form. We will approach the game as any other and just enjoy the occasion".
He finished: “To get my hands on some silverware in my first season would be amazing it’s what I came here to do. I came here with the expectation on getting Promotion again and at the minute it’s not disappointing. It’s going to take one last big push from the team to get over the line".
