Penydarren BGC return to league form this Saturday after several postponed games as they travel to face Ely Rangers at Station Road on Saturday afternoon. Pen enter the game on a magnificent run of form, winning five of their last five games in all competitions, most recently securing their place in the 5th Round of the FAW Trophy after a 7-1 victory over Ynystawe Athletic just three weeks ago. Kerry Mullins’ side currently lie in fifth place in Welsh Football League Division 3, eleven points ahead of fifteenth placed Ely Rangers and just twelve points off the top of the table with six games in hand. Another positive result on Saturday afternoon will help solidify their place within the top 4 as they enter the festive period.
Saturday’s hosts Ely Rangers come into the game on the back of a 4-2 defeat to Newport City FC but the Cardiff side will be eager to get back on track after last weeks loss at Spytty Park. The reverse fixture between the sides ended with Penydarren coming out dominant 3-1 winners after goals from Joshua Brogden, Asa Lloyd and Sam Gamble at The Bont earlier last month.
