It’s Penydarren’s first meeting with Caerau FC in just under 10 years this coming Tuesday when Kerry Mullins’ side travel to the Athletic Ground in the Welsh Football League.
The last time the two sides met was in the 2008/2009 South Wales Senior Cup Final where Penydarren ran out 1-0 winners after a goal from Richie Collins. At the time it was Danny Sullivan who broke a club record by becoming the first 1st team manager to win the South Wales Senior Cup.
Since then the club have gone onto win the South Wales Senior League Cup twice after they were previous winners back in 2014.
The night of the 2008/2009 final saw involvement of current first team players of Christopher Colvin-Owen, Kyle Sullivan, Adam Lewis and now first team manager Kerry Mullins. It was former first team player and manager Julian Barsi who captained the side to victory on the night.
