This Saturday Kerry Mullin’s side travel to Ivor Park to take on Welsh League promotion contenders Pontyclun FC. Penydarren BGC were victorious over the ‘Clun’ last time out after they comfortable ran out 2-0 winners in the Nathanial Car Sales League Cup back in November but Barry Quinn’s Pontyclun side will be looking to change the outcome this time round.
Penydarren have had great start to life in Welsh Football League Division 3 after only losing one and winning six of their first seven games in the league so far. Penydarren BGC will be looking to keep the same momentum going into this weekendss game after they comfortable dispatched Ynystawe Athletic in the 4th round of the FAW Trophy two weeks ago. Penydarren BGC currently sit in 5th place but a win for Kerry Mullins' side will see them move up into 3rd place, level with Pontyclun FC on 21 points.
The Hosts – Pontyclun FC
The hosts come in to this game on the back of a hard-fought draw against Newport City FC. Since defeat to Penydarren
last month they narrowly lost to Welsh Football League Division 1 side Goytre United in the 2nd round of the JD Welsh Cup after suffering a 1-0 defeat at Glenhaford Park. Pontyclun also last month defeated Ely Rangers 4-1 at Station Road in Welsh Football League Division 3.
