Braces from Cai Lewis and Eddee-Lloyd Bedford sealed a place for Penydarren BGC in the next round of the Boys & Girls Club of Wales Federation Cup.
It was the Visitors who dominated the early proceedings and set the tone for the 1st Round of the Boys & Girls Club of Wales Federation Cup.
Penydarren BGC found their first opportunity of the game within the first five minutes as winger Cai Lewis’ shot forced the visiting goalkeeper into action as he pulled off a phenomenal save to deny Craig Morgans’ side an opening goal.
The deadlock was finally broken at the Pontyfraith Leisure Centre just minutes later after a poor mistake from the Pengam defence gifted the visitors a great chance to find an opener. Penydarren BGC midfielder Ossian Wiltshire took full advantage of the mistake and beat his man inside the box to fire into the bottom right hand corner.
Midfielder Ossian Wiltshire was in and around the action once again as he delivered a great ball to the back post where Cai Lewis got on the end of the cross to composedly guide his header into the top corner to double Penydarren’s lead early on.
Penydarren BGC U12s continued their excellent dominance in the game and extended their lead through midfielder Eddee-Lloyd Bedford a few minutes later as he hit a thunderous strike which beat the stretching goalkeeper from 25 yards out. An unbelievable strike from the youngster.
It proved to be very comfortable half for both Craig Morgan and Gavin Llewellyn's’ side as they found themselves 3-0 up going into the break in the 1st Round of the Boys & Girls Club of Wales Federation Cup.
Penydarren BGC made a rapid start to the second half and found their fourth 3 minutes after the restart through Cai Lewis who beat two defenders down the right-hand side to riffle his shot into the roof of the net from an acute angle against the advancing goalkeeper after a fantastic through ball from Tristian Warner.
Eddee-Lloyd Bedford then rounded off a comprehensive victory for Penydarren BGC four minutes from time as he turned his man inside the box to fire into the bottom left hand corner past the goalkeeper to insure Penydarren sealed their place in the next round of the Boys & Girls Club of Wales Federation Cup.
