PENYDARREN BGC DRAWN AT HOME TO STM SPORTS IN THE QUARTER FINAL OF THE FAW TROPHY

Following today’s FAW Trophy Quarter Final Draw at the Football Association of Wales Headquarters in Cardiff, Kerry Mullins’ side have been drawn at Home to Welsh Football League Division 2 side STM Sports.

We will host STM Sports just a week later after our Welsh Football League last 16 clash at The Bont Playing Fields. Both sides have had some fantastic ties over the years and its sure to be another entertaining game in Merthyr on Saturday 9th of February.

STM Sports currently sit 5th in Welsh Football League Division 2 with 29 points from 13 league games whilst we sit in 6th place with 24 points from 9 league games.

Penydarren BGC beat STM Sports twice last year in Welsh domestic competitions. The first one coming in a 3-2 victory in the 2nd Round of the FAW Trophy. The second time was a 2-1 victory in the 2nd Round of the JD Welsh Cup.

Penydarren BGC Captain Alex Lloyd reflected on this afternoons draw by saying. “It will be another tough game but a game that we are all looking forward to already”. Hopefully we can continue our good cup run against them and go one step further than last year which would be the final”.

A preliminary date is set for the 9th February. As a result, our trip to Ynys park to take on Trefelin BGC in the Welsh Football League that day has been postponed following today’s FAW Trophy Draw.

Penydarren BGC v STM Sports

Plas Madoc v Pontardawe Town

Llangefni Town FC v Bodedern Athletic
