Penydarren BGC U13s spark emphatic victory over league leaders Llantwit Fardre!

Last Saturday Penydarren BGC Under 13s travelled to Central Park to take on league leaders Llantwit Fardre in the Taff Ely Rhymney Valley Football League. Both sides were in very good forming going into the game but the hosts were the big favourites going into the game as they sat top of the pile.

It was the visitors who took an early lead through striker George Kabza who fired remarkedly past the advancing Llantwit goalkeeper to put Penydarren 1-0 up within the first 15 minutes.

Llantwit Fardre responded just minutes er as a long ball caught out the Penydarren defence which resulted in a Llantwit Fardre equalising after the striker beat Goalkeeper Harvey Green.

But Penydarren unbelievable re-took the lead just minutes later as Logan Evans finished exquisitely from an acute angle to put Penydarren BGC 2-1 up just before the break. Unbelievable scenes at Central Park.

Llantwit Fardre equalised early on the second half after Penydarren BGC failed to clear their lines. But Harri Jones sparked a frantic final for Penydarren BGC as he composedly beat the advancing Llantwit Fardre goalkeeper to neatly finish into the bottom corner to put Penydarren BGC 3-2 up in the dying stages of the game.

It was an historic victory for Craig Cheeks’ side as they were the first team to beat Llantwit Fardre for over 2 years. What a performance it was from the Penydarren BGC players. The U13s are looking to continue their great form in the league this weekend as they host Caerphilly Town AFC in the Taff Ely Rhymney Valley Football League.
